Brass is a combination of copper and zinc. Like silver, brass oxidizes over time, especially through contact with air, sweat, and moisture. The oxidation process is a natural, superficial phenomenon. With proper care, it is possible to preserve the piece's appearance for longer and restore its shine should it begin to show signs of tarnishing.
We advise that:
When the piece starts to darken, place it in a bowl of water with a little vinegar for about two minutes , then dry it with a soft cloth. This trick helps remove the thin surface layer of the brass that has become dull.
